6. NEW BUSINESS -
A. Request to Extend the Fire Captain's Eligibility List through January 18, 2005 submitted by Doug Perry, Fire Chief.
Chief Perry requested that the list be extended since there are no new candidates eligible to test.
MSC (SILVAISAUCEDO) 40 To Extend the Fire Captain's List through January 18, 2005 as submitted.
OTHER BUSINESS -
A. Appeal of Discipline by City Employee (CSC.035)
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources announced that the appellant has withdrawn his appeal.
B. City Newsletter and Communication Notices
General inquiry of hourly and permanent employees was discussed.
C. Staffing Reports.
There was general discussion on current vacancies and the City's efforts to fill positions.
8.. COMMUNICATIONS
A. Chair's Comments
Chair Triplette stated that he participated in the recruitment process for the Senior Human Resources Analyst for the City. He
commented that it was a very rigorous and interesting process.
Kelley Bacon, Assistant Director of Human Resources commented that it was a very involved assessment centerthat had several
components that were very challenging for the candidates. Ms.'Bacon also stated that an appointment has been announced and
Ms. Siler was appointed to the position.
B. Commissioners' Comments - None
C. Staff Comments
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources thanked Chair Triplette for his participation in the selection process for the
Senior Human Resources Analyst position. Ms. Raskin also mentioned that the Civil Service Commission meetings will not
take place in this building anymore and that the meetings will be moved to the old Police Department building. The Civil
Service Commission packets for next month will have the new location address. Ms. Raskin gave an updated on the
vacancy on this Commission. She stated that the Mayor's -Office will be holding interviews and making a selection soon.
Commissioner Chidester suggested taking a vacation from the July meeting due to the move.
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources stated that we would keep the Commissioner informed should we have to
cancel due to the move. I

9. ADJOURNMENT - To adjourn to the next regular meeting of the Commission scheduled on July 8, 2004, in the Human
Resources Conference Room, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista.
