MEETING CALL TO ORDER 5:15 p.m. 2. MEMBERS PRESENT Commissioners Triplette P , Chidester P^, Silva P , Saucedo A Floros P Commissioner Saucedo was absent. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - The Minutes of the regular meeting of January 13, 2000 were approved 4. (Saucedo absent) 6. NEW BUSINESS - A Appeal of Discipline by City Employee (CSC.037) Closed Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources distributed an updated agenda for the appeal hearing scheduled for March 24th. She stated that all hearings are open to the public unless the appellant notifies the Human Resources Department requesting that the hearing be dosed to the public. Commissioner Silva asked if the appellant could request the hearing to be closed the day of the hearing. Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources said that the appellant should notify the department 72 hours in advance. Conversation continued' in regards to the location of the hearing due to the remodeling of City Hall. Commissioner Floros asked if they would be provided reading material in advance of the hearing. Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources stated that Ms. Marshall, Assistant City Attorney is working with the appellant's representative regarding the documents for the appeal. Ms. Raskin hopes that the Human Resources Department will be able to provide documents in advance of the hearing. CT` 7. OTHER BUSINESS - A. City Newslettet and Communication Notices. B. Staffing Reports Commissioners agree that the reports provide are informative and helpful: Commissioner Silva asked if the position in the Attorney's Office was filled. Ms. Raskin, Director of Human Resources does not believe the position has been filled. Chair Triplette asked how many employees are in the City Attorney's Office. Ms. Raskin, Director of Human Resources listed those employees in the Attorney's Office. 8. COMMUNICATIONS A. Chair's Comments — None. B. Commissioners' Comments - Notre C. Staff Comments Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources shared information on the 161h Annual Employee Recognition event that the Human Resources Department coordinates. She also asked Mr. Triplette how his plans were coming along regarding his move. Chair Triplette explained that he was moving by March 30th and that he plans on attending the April Commission meeting. Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources informed Mr. Triplette that once he moves from the area, he would need to inform the City and submit a letter of resignation for the Commission. Ms. Raskin also stated that hates having to lose Mr. Triplette as a member of the Commission. D. Public Comments - None 9. ADJOURNMENT — To adjourn to the Special meeting of the Commission scheduled on March 24, 2005, in Conference Rooms 2 & 3 in the Public Services Building, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista.
