APPROVAL OF MINUTES - The Minutes of the regular meeting of May 4, 2006 were approved. 4. COMMUNICATIONS A. Chair's Comments - None B. Commissioners' Comments - None C. Staff Comments Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources stated that the investigation into the complaint submitted by Ms. Stephany in regards to the Agent's exam has been concluded. The complaint was handled by the Internal Affairs division of the Police Department and has been resolved with the final finding to be completed soon. Commissioner Stevenson asked if the Commission would be allowed to review the findings. Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources answered no the Commission would not receive a copy. Ms. Raskin stated that no illegal harassment or hostile work environment was determined. Ms. Raskin also added that as a result of the investigation, the department would implement new interviewing procedures. Civil Service Commission Minutes June 1, 2006 Chair Silva asked if the Human Resources staff would meet with the Police Department to assist in creating new procedures or provide training. ` Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources stated that the Human Resources staff would be available to assist if requested. Chair Silva also commented that the Commission would not normally receive the findings due to the fact that Internal Investigations are confidential under the Penal Code 832.7. Chair Silva stated that he was comfortable with the fact that the Director has been kept in the loop and if something happens again, that it would be addressed, Commissioner Stevenson was concerned over the last two incidents both in the Police and Fire department and that they are not symptoms of a larger problem. Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources stated that the Fire Department acted very quickly when made aware of the situation. She also stated that the Police Department takes all complaints seriously and she is convinced the Department did a thorough investigation. D. Public Comments - None 9. ADJOURNMENT— 5:50'p.m. The Civil Service Commission adjourned to the next regular scheduled meeting on July 6, 2006, at 5:15 p.m., in Building 100, Council Conference Room C106 at City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91910.
