6. NEW BUSINESS -
A. Request to extend the Clerical Eligibility List for six months submitted by Irene Mosley, Human Resources Operations
Manager.
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources stated that the request to extend the list is due to no activity on these
classifications.
Commissioner Floros asked if it saves the City money.
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources answered that the extension would save the department funds by not
conducting a recruitment.
Chair Silva asked if the Unions are given notice of extending or changes to lists.
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources answered that the Unions receive the Agenda and that no concerns have
been brought forward regarding the extension. Ms. Raskin felt that the Union membership would be pleased that members
on the list would not have to test again for at least another six months.
Chair Silva stated that normally the Commission approves the extension of one classification and this request is asking to
extend a category of classifications.
Kelley Bacon, Assistant Director of Human Resources explained that the Department is using the OPAC exam. This exam
allows candidates to take one exam for a series of positions. This saves the city, staff and applicants time and money by
only having to apply and test once for a series of positions. She also commented that she has not received any concerns or
issues.

B. City Clerk's Board and Commission Project - Susan Bigelow, City Clerk
Sharon Marshall, Sr. Assistant City Attorney stated that the City Clerk's office has made revisions to the general rules that
deals with Commission. These changes now compile with the City Charter.

Commissioners and staff discussed dates and times for both cases.
C. City Newsletter and Communication Notices
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources handed out the last CityNews brochure and explained that the City is going
on-line for employee information.

8. COMMUNICATIONS

B. Commissioners' Comments
Commissioner Stevenson asked when the City Manager position might be filled.
• Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources said that there is no information or status of the selection process for City
Manager positions at this time. •
Commissioner Stevenson commented that the City is without two Assistant City Managers as well.
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources answered that Mr. Thompson is Interim City Manager and ScottTullock is an
Acting Assistant City Manager. Ms. Raskin discussed general budget issues.
C. Staff Comments —
Marcia Raskin, Director of Human Resources commented that a final mid -management study Y411 go to Council soon. Ms.
Raskin discussed the process, salary issues and benchmarks items.

9. ADJOURNMENT —
The Civil Service Commission adjourned to the Special meeting scheduled on April 20, 2007 at 4:00 p.m., in the Executive
