CALL MEETING TO ORDER
ROLL CALL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Scott, Commissioners Cernitz,
McAllister, Pelayo, Souval, Virchis and
Wheeland
MEMBERS ABSENT: Commissioner Walker
STAFF PRESENT: Staff Gates and Shaw
NEW BUSINESS
A. Evaluation of the Community Pride Fair Special Event
On February 14, 1995, Council directed staff to prepare
a report evaluating the Community Pride Fair Special
event held on July 4th, and propose options for
conducting the Community Pride in the future.
Staff distributed to the Commission the Council Agenda
Statement for meeting date 2/28/95 to discuss the Fair,
for the Community Pride Fair and
present existing plans
offer options which the Council may wish to consider for
sponsoring a Community Pride Fair in future years.
The Commission reviewed and re= d Options #1 thru #5 as
follows:

Community Pride Fair and July Fourth Fireworks

yet, Walker absent) - Eliminate the Community
Pride Fair
Option #5 MSC [Souval/Cernitz] 6-0 (Scott not present
yet, Walker absent) - Eliminate the Cultural
Arts Festival
MSC [Cernitz/Wheeland] 7-0 (Walker absent) created Option #6
to recommend conducting one Festival that promotes community
pride through cultural arts not to be exclusive of any
business entity, such as the Downtown Business Association,
Chamber of Commerce, schools, etc.
Meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m. to the next regularly scheduled
meeting of March 14 at 5:00 p.m.
