APPROVAL"OF MINUTES The January minutes were approved as written 5. ACTION ITEMS Unfinished Business a. Bridge naming Steve Millikin spoke with Gail Crocenzi with Otay Ranch regarding plaque she proposed a plaque with all the names on it. Commissioners agreed to have a single name on the plaque. It was also discussed that each walkway be a different name. Steve Millikin will bring in a diagram of the plaque for Commissioner's approval. b. Veteran's Biographies 60 names have been completed, by next month 70 names should be completed. The goal is 120 names. Star News will publish the names of the bios 50-60 at a time. A.Y. Casillas suggested to list 10 names at a time. c. Veteran's Park Groundbreaking will be in the summer. More information will be given in March meeting. d Veterans Home Update 332 tenants at Veteran's home. $1,000 received from General Atomics out of Sorrento Valley. County of San Diego verbally approved $10,000 for 60 alpha -watches. Will help residents with Alzheimer's. e. Broadway fundraiser No action. f. Memorial Day Activities will be held at 11 am on Memorial Day at Glenn Abbey. g. Golf tournament Scheduled April 12, 2004. Official flyer hasn't been completed. Golf tournament has raised $7000 the past two years, not sure how much money will be raised this year h. Denise Duchaney Denise Duchaney cannot attend VAC meetings because of scheduling conflicts. A Saturday meeting was suggested at the Veteran's home mid-March. Robert White will talk to John Smith from the Veteran's Home to confirm the meeting. The meeting is to highlight the last 2-3 years of VAC. 1 ,7 6. COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR'S COMMENTS The workshop for City Board Commission members is scheduled for February 25-26 20d4.
