CALL MEETING TO ORDER 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. ROLL CALL Robert White P Stephen Millikin P . A.Y. Casillas P , Carmen Fedje P, William Keith P . William Poindexter P , Bobby Price P. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The February minutes were approved as written 5. ACTION ITEMS Unfinished Business a. Bridge naming Steve Millikin spoke with Lisa Johnson of McMillan and it was suggested to approach McMillan by letter to outline proposal. Most if not all names will be used. -Stephen Millikin has been attempting to get a hold of Gail Grozenski with Otay. Frederick A. Beech will be used for the La Media Bridge. b. Street naming Three additional names will be added: Semple, Brezar, Swienciciki.: Information to be sent to several developers of veterans including freedom is not free sheet. c. Veteran's Biographies Matt Sayers has received biographies and pictures and should have the website up and running by June. Veteran of the Year Bob White proposed the same judges from last year should be the same judges for this year, A.Y. Casillas and Carmen Fedje. Applications to be distributed. A paragraph with Information regarding Veteran of the year to be submitted to the City's Spotlight. d. Veteran's Park Ground break will take place in June per Buck Martin. Bob White will ask Buck Martin to invite everyone in the Veteran's Advisory Commission, VFW Post 2111 and the Veteran's home to be in attendance. Capt Dyke suggested Medal of Honor winner Semple to be used for the adult ball field. e Veterans Home Update Golf tournament, would, like to raise $7,000 or more, it will be held April 12 Adm. Baker Golf Course. $10,000 check given for watches f. Broadway fundraiser No action. 1 • g. Memorial Day Activities for Glenn Abbey will be held at 11 am on Memorial Day. h. Denise Duchaney Scheduled to be at the Veteran's home April 2, 2004 at 6pm. Monthly meeting will be held plus a tour of Veteran's home. Carmen will provide history on when the Commission started. Robert White will update present activities. 6. COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR'S COMMENTS Bob White will be out of town until June of 2004. COMISSIONERS COMMENTS. STAFF COMMENTS PUBLIC COMMENTS None is 7.
