5. ACTION ITEMS
1) Veteran's Park Status -Bobby Price stated the bricks were sorted and will appear on the walk by service with no
exceptions. Only three bricks were damaged. The second subscription for the Veteran's Park has been ordered
and the dedication has been moved to April. The park will have a "soft" opening around mid November.
2) CWHSF Status- Steve Millikin reported that there are currently about 370 residents.
A total of 9 sling lifters are either identified for funding or have been ordered and have been received.
The foundation will be responsible for providing things such as equipment that the Department of Veteran's Affairs
should be providing. The equipment should be funded by the State of California and is not. A letter is being drafted
from the president of the support foundation, Bob White to express concern about the Support Foundation given
the responsibility of providing this necessary equipment that should be funded by other means.
3) Veterans Home Wi-Fi- Steve Milikin stated that the Wi-Fi Memorandum of understanding seems to be
progressing well. A meeting was held by the California Veteran's Department, representatives of the Veteran's
Support Foundation, as well as the Veteran's home. There was an agreement that the Wi-Fi project can proceed.
4) Civic Center Memorial -Nothing to report.
5) Veteran's Walk -Bobby Price reported that the Veteran's Walk is progressing. There are a good number of
sponsors for the walk but not that many participants. Applications to participate are on-line in the VFW Post 2111
site (VFWpost2111.org) The Planet radio station will start advertising the Veteran's Walk next week and will air for
2-3 weeks. The Planet radio station will also be set up at the walk. The goal for the walk is $10,000 for the
Veteran's Home Support Foundation:
6) Veteran of the Year -The letter recommending the Veteran of the Year went over to the City Council. Capt
Miranda will follow-up with Natalie Flores in the Mayor's Office.
7) Veterans Day Memorial Bowl Ceremony- Will be held November 11th, 2005 at 11:00am.
8) Street and Overpasses- Nothing to report.

Stephen Millikin stated that a dedication will be held for a veteran's flagpole at the Bonita Library, Saturday November 12`"
2005 at 10:OOam. Everyone is invited to come.

7. ADJOURNMENT: Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday November 15, 2005 in the Chula Vista Police
Department Admin. Conference Room, 315 Fourth Avenu Chula Vista at 6:00 pm.
