PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE VETERANS ADVISORY COMMISSION CITY OF CHULA VISTA ' MINUTES Third Floor Conference room Chula Vista Police Department 3. ROLL CALL Robert White P Stephen Millikin _P__,A.Y. Casillas P Sherry Strothers E Gene Pellerin _P_ William Poindexter P , Bobby Price_P_ 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 5. ACTION ITEMS • Park Status - Per Bob White, the parking lot has been completed. The dedication will be postponed to January. The brick layout will be moved to September 15, 2005 and the brick's layout will have all the military services integrated. • CWHSF Status- Bob White stated that SBC approved a grant for $5,000 for laptops for the residents and possibly an internet wireless connection. He added that the CWHSF is listed in the Combined Federal Campaign. • Civic Memorial — Per Gene Pellerin, no word from McCann, waiting on progress. • Street/Bridge — Nothing to report • Veteran Walk — Bobby Price reported that Wal-Mart donated a $3,000 grant and that Steve Arends collected 200 from the Padres. The walk is scheduled for November 05, 2005. • Veteran of the Year Awards — No applications have been received. • Senior Chief Petty Officer Healy — A motion was moved and approved to deny the recognition of Senior Chief Petty Officer Healy as a Chula Vista resident by the board. An article was distributed that Healy was in fact a Honolulu, HI resident and his closest ties to Chula Vista were that he had family in Bonita. 6. COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR'S COMMENTS COMISSIONERS COMMENTS. 7. ADJOURNMENT: Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday September 20, 2005 in the Chula Vista Police Department Admin.
