CALL MEETING TO ORDER PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Third Floor Conference room Chula Vista Police Department ROLL CALL Robert White P Stephen Millikin _E___.A.Y. Veterans Home- Robert White informed the commission that Dan Murray left as of yesterday, and will be replaced (interim for about 90 days) by Gil Acevedo. Christmas party went well. 2. Veteran's Park- Veterans Park building is open, and grass is now in the park. It appears that small plants are yet to be put in. Ms Victoria Tom has her office there, and the commission can stop by and see her (normal working hours) and get a tour. The bricks are in, and spaced throughout the walk of honor. Blank bricks are used as fillers until they become sold. A second order on the bricks went out last week. AY mentioned the need for more publicity vis -6 -vis Roger Hedgecock. Brick sales still ongoing, and the order that went out last week should be "implanted" •prior to the dedication, which is still scheduled for the end of April. 3. Line #65 of California Tax form 540 for 2005- AB -357 was passed and is on the CA state tax forms (line #65). A.Y. urged getting the word out to the Veterans — American Legion, VFW, etc. Robert White stated that this was being done, and is also planned to tell one and all at the UVC meeting coming up the end of this month. The proceeds from this will be distributed to the three Veterans Home for Quality of Life issues, much in line with what the Foundation presently does. 4. E-mail change- Robert White's e-mail address was changed to Rdwhite1717@cox.net 5. Veteran of the Year- A question was raised about the VOY, and whether all the paperwork, and letter went out from Council member Rindone. Capt Miranda sent out separate email on this as well. It was also recommended that the VOY schedule be moved up, so that everything is ready a month or so earlier. Robert White mentioned that he was requested to be at the VOY luncheon planning committee, and the first meeting is in two weeks. 6. COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR'S COMMENTS COMISSIONERS COMMENTS. 7.
