APPROVAL OF MINUTES ' ■ Approval of Resolution: The resolution needed to announce the locations of the Chula Vista Veterans Advisory, Commission meetings was agreed to by all members, signed and will be forwarded to the City Attorney as required. Those members of the commission not present provided their approval of the resolution via email. ■ Status of Biographies: The biographies for Chula Vista Veterans killed in action are all drafted and Specialist Curtis R. Spivey's has been posted on the City of Chula Vista web site. Sergeant Wyckoff, Sergeant Martinez and Staff Sergeant Mattero biographies are in a rough format. They will be completed and posted on the web site as soon as possible. ■ Veteran's Walk Status: The veteran's walk is in the planning stage and sponsors being requested. This walk raises funds for the Chula Vista Veterans Home. ■ Recognition of veterans lost in combat: The Chula Vista Veterans Memorial Park has agreed to display photographs and short biographies of the four Chula Veterans killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Gene Pellerin will prepare the photographs and biographies and deliver,them to the Park for display. Tiles with the veteran's names and a short biography are also a planned program and sponsors are being sought to fund the program. ■ CV Veterans Outreach Program: Terry Jensen is working on the Chula Vista Veterans outreach program and possible sponsors. ■ Veteran's Home wireless network: A wireless network for the Chula Vista Veterans Home will be discussed and some resolution made by the Chula Vista Veterans Support Foundation. This should be accomplished at the September meeting of the Foundation. ■ CV Veteran of the Year update: The nominee for the Chula Vista Veteran of the Year has been forwarded to the Mayors Office. That nominee's name should be forwarded to the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center for consideration as the San Diego County Veteran of the Year. Current planning is for the Chula Vista Veteran of the Year presentation to be made November 6, 2007. ACTION ITEMS 5. COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR'S COMMENTS COMISSIONERS COMMENTS. a Yr r 6.
