outreach program. Bobby and others also provide testimony in support of SB 1222 ($3.00 per veteran that
includes a breakdown per CVSO, DCVA and VSO), and SB 1778, which will raise the cap from 5 million to 11
million for the CVSO's.

classic in 5 May, and that the proceeds are used to provided needed support for the Veterans Home residents
including specialized equipment required to provide mobility for the homes residents.

program includes research to ensure that Veterans Killed in Action biographies are up dated and accurate.
■ Jane Bergman, Chula Vista Veterans Home Administrator (Acting) — Gene Pellerin — A letter was sent to
Governor Schwarzenegger recommending Ms. Jane Bergman for the appointment as the Chula Vista
Veterans Home Administrator.
• Chula Vista Veteran of the year status — A.Y. Casillas — The program and forms are available from A.Y.
Casillas. Chula Vista Fire Captain Jim Geering has indicated that he may have a couple of candidates for
consideration as Chula Vista Veteran of the Year.
■ Chula Vista Veterans Home update and WiFi status — Steve Millikin — Mr. John Smith of the Chula Vista
Veterans Home briefed the Commission on the performance of the WiFi system. In short it is working well with
a few blank spots in coverage. This problem should be corrected by the addition of signal boosters.
