Chula Vista Veteran's Home

Elect Chairman- Gene Pellerin nominated Bobby Price as the Chairman for the Veteran's Advisory
Commission. Bobby Price was elected Chairman of the Chula Vista Veterans Advisory Commission.
Two termed out commissioner replacement status- Stephen Sprenkle stated Dennis Sumpter is interested in
becoming a commissioner. Mariluz Alvarez will follow-up with Jennifer Quijano if application has been
submitted by Dennis Sumpter.
Home Foundation Update- No update
Veteran's Park- Gene Pellerin stated as of today there have been no citizen complaints of skateboarders
using the Walk of Honor. Signs are up around the walk of honor and police are patrolling the area. Once again
the Commission thanks everyone concerned for the help needed to preserve the Veterans Park Walk of
Honor.
Veteran of the Year- Jim Galliher was selected as the Veteran of the Year for 2008. He will be presented with
a proclamation from the Mayor as the Veteran of the Year for the VAC at the City Council meeting, Tuesday
September 23, 2008 at 6:00pm. A write up for Jim Galliher has also been submitted to the San Diego County
Veteran of the Year selection committee.
AY Casillas's farewell dinner is set for 08/20/08 at 6:00pm at the Chula Vista Veteran's Home.
