CALL MEETING TO ORDER 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 3. ROLL CALL Bobby Price—P—, Stephen Millikin P Gene'Pellerin _P, Stephen Sprenkle P , John Acosta P_ ,Terry Jensen —P—Keith Blum _P 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES • Library Project- John Acosta the project is on hold for the time being Bobby Price suggested someone should talk to librarian to possibly schedule an appointment with Bob Filner John Acosta will report in January. ■ Veteran Home Support Foundation- Steven Millikin reported the Veteran's home is thinking of possibly a 6-10% cap, there are currently 350 residents. Renovations in building is needed, as a result, residents are being moved which is creating turbulence. The Christmas party is set for December 10, 2008 at 5:30pm. Gene Pellerin will send email with more information on the Christmas party. The Internet is up and running, it's working well in the lobby area but has varying degrees of success in rooms. ■ Golf Classic- Gene Pellerin discussed the Golf Classic, which will take place on 05/05/09 at the Eastlake Country Club Post card to be sent out some time in January. ■ Gene Pellerin stated he update Sgt. Wyckoff's biography in the city website to add medals Wyckoff was awarded with. , • Veteran's Walk -Bobby Price stated $6,000 was raised from the Veteran's Walk. He also added that they have not received the $1,000 check from Wal -mart yet. ■ Christmas Parade: John Acosta suggested the VAC should participate in the Chula Vista Christmas parade. Gene Pellerin will check with Jennifer.Quijano, with the City of Chula Vista, Mayor's Office to inquire as to how to participate. ■ Terry Jensen suggested a Facebook page should be created with resources for Veterans and links A link to that site can also be created from the City of Chula Vista website -Gene Pellerin will speak with Holger Summerfield, Webmaster with the City of Chula Vista to discuss possibly creating a link from the City's website to other websites already In existence which show Veteran's benefits relating to Veteran affairs. ■ Keith Blum stated he is currently working on a dissertation for Veteran's issues.
