4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Keith Blum made a motion to approve March minutes as written and was seconded by Terry Jensen. The minutes
were approved unanimously.
ACTION ITEMS
Veterans Activities Presentation: (see attached)
i. Veterans Home Update: There are 305 residents, 85 on the waiting list for the Veteran's home. Currently there
i` are 65 veterans from Southwestern College working part-time in Veterans home. Founder's Day is set for
Saturday, May 18'h at 10am.
Veteran's Walk: The 12`x' Annual Chula Vista Veteran's Walk in memory of Bobby Price will be held on November
2, 2013. Kick off event is set for Saturday, July 6, 2013 and Team Rally event on Saturday, October 12, 2013.
• Veteran of the year program: Press release was sent out to several publications. Ad for the VOY will be in
American Legion newspaper. Applications are also available at VFW, Veteran's Home and American Legion.

website, http://www.chulavistaca.gov/veterans went live on April 17, 2013. There is a section in the website for the
Veteran of the year, the Veteran's Advisory Commission, as well as information about Veterans in the community.
Veteran's wing at City Library -Wall of Honor: Two artists from Southwestern College have committed to the
project. An estimated $1,500 will be required for the project. Chair Alex Galicia is to draft a letter to the Mayor's
office asking Mayor Cox to have the City fund the project.

ADJOURNMENT: Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Chula Vista Veterans Home, 700 E.
Naples Court Chula Vista at 6:00 pm.
