1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Terry Jensen moved to approve minutes of November 20, 2013 as written. Commissioner Steve Sprenkle
seconded the motion, and it carried by the following vote:
Yes: 6 —Blum, Stewart, Sprenkle, Whitehead, Jensen, and Bailey
ACTION ITEMS
• DVBE Update / evaluation and discussion of final documentation to be prepared by legal for City Council
Action: Item tabled for February's meeting.
• Commissioner Acosta's absence from January's meeting: Commissioner Tony Stewart moved to approve
Commissioner John Acosta's absence from the January 15, 2014 meeting. Commissioner Steve Sprenkle
seconded the motion, and it carried by the following vote:
Yes: 6 —Blum, Stewart, Sprenkle, Whitehead, Jensen, and Bailey
• Home Depot Recognition: Commissioner Stewart would like further discussion on recognizing businesses in
the community who hire and/or support veterans. Criteria for the award/recognition to be discussed at next
month's VAC meeting.
OPEN DISCUSSION
Commissioner Whitehead shared the Veteran's Activities Report for January 2014.
CHAIR'S COMMENTS
ADJOURNMENT: Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Chula Vista Veterans Home, 700 E.
Naples Court Chula Vista at 6:00 pm.
