4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Tony Stewart moved to approve minutes of February 18, 2015, as written. Commissioner Bob
Bailey seconded the motion, and it carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 — Blum, Whitehead, Jensen, Stewart,
Bailey and Perez.
ACTION ITEMS
Stand down 2015 request for City of Chula Vista sponsorship: Commissioner Tony Stewart made a motion to
request $500 from the City of Chula Vista to sponsor a tent at stand down. Chair Keith Blum to compose a letter
requesting the funds. Commissioner Terry Jensen seconded the motion, and it carried by the following vote: Yes:
6 — Blum, Whitehead, Jensen, Stewart, Bailey and Perez.
70th Annual Spirit'45 discussion: Commissioner Terry Jensen made a motion thatthecommission propose to the
City of Chula Vista participation in the Spirit of '45 event to be held in conjunction with the California Veteran's
Home in Chula Vista for a, proposed date in August of 2015. Commissioner Tony Stewart seconded the motion,
and it carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 — Blum, Whitehead, Jensen, Stewart, Bailey and Perez.
OPEN DISCUSSION
Mayor Mary Salas attended the meeting and gave an update on the City of Chula Vista development and
veteran's affairs.
City procurement policy: Lon Turner spoke with Deputy City Attorney David Miller to get an update on the policy
draft. The plan is for Chair Keith Blum to present the proposed ordinance in front of Council and to recommend
that some type of action be taken for the Veteran's business community. Chair Keith Blum will contact Deputy City
Attorney David. Miller and will work with him to get this project moving along.
Veteran's Home Founders Day: Founder's day is set for May 16, 2015. The VAC will have 2 canopies with banner
and will be handing out Calvet brochures and books.

ADJOURNMENT: Meeting was adjourned at 7:00 pm. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
April 15, 2015, at the Chula Vista Veteran's Home, 700 E. Naples Court, Chula Vista, at 6:00 p.m.
