RESOLUTION NO. 12891
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE PROPOSED "TELEGRAPH
CANYON SOUTH ANNEXATION" INCLUDING
APPROXIMATELY 111 ACRES FROM THE COUNTY OF SAN
DIEGO TO THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Cortese/Knox Local Government
Reorganization Act of 1985, commencing with Section 56000 of the
Government Code, the Local Agency Formation Commission has
received an application from the Rancho del Sur Corporation for
the annexation of approximately 111 acres from the County of San
Diego to the City of Chula Vista, and
WHEREAS, the subject territory is a triangularly-shaped
County island located at the easterly terminus of East Naples and
bordered by Telegraph Canyon Road to the north and the current
City boundaries to the south as depicted on Exhibit A, and
UHEREAS, the proposed reorganization is within the
adopted Sphere-of-Influence of the City of Chula Vista, and
WHEREAS, an Initial Study IS-87-19 of the possible
adverse environmental impacts of the project was conducted as
part of the prezoning by the Environmental Review Coordinator on
October 24, 1986, who concluded that there would be no
significant environmental effects, and
WHEREAS, on January 5, 1987, the Local Agency Formation
Commission adopted a resolution approving the proposed annexation
(Reference No. CA866), and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the regulations of the
Cortese/Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, the
Local Agency Formation Commission has referred the matter to the
City of Chula Vista for its action, and
%~HEREAS, the purpose of the annexation is to provide the
full range of comprehensive municipal services for the subject
area, and
WHEREAS, the property to be annexed shall be taxed for
general bonded indebtedness of Chula Vista, and
WHEREAS, the regular County assessment roll shall be
utilized, and

WHEREAS,, a public hearing was held on January 27, 1987
at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers and due notice of said
hearing was given in the manner required by law, and no written
or oral protests were received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista hereby finds and determines and orders as
follows:
1. The territory proposed for annexation (hereinafter
referred to as the Territory) is as depicted in
Exhibit A attached hereto.
2. The boundaries of the territory conform to lines of
assessment and ownership.
3. The City Council does hereby approve the proposed
Telegraph Canyon South Annexation consisting of
approximately 111 acres from the County of San Diego
to the City of Chula Vista.
4. The City of Chula Vista does hereby order said
annexation.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Chula Vista be, and
she is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a
certified copy of this resolution in accordance with
Section 57200 of the Government Code.

CA86-6 "Telegraph Canyon South Annexation" to City of Chula Vista
All that portion of quarter sections 68 and 89 in Rancho de La
Nacion, in the County of San Diego, State of Califorhia,
according to Map thereof No. 166, filed in the Office of the
County Recorder of San Diego County, May 11, 1869, lying within
the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Quarter Section 68;
1. Thence South 72011,39'' West 2637.25 feet along the southerly
line of said Quarter Section 68 to the southwesterly corner
thereof;
2. Thence South 72o09,12. West along the southerly line of said
Quarter Section 89 to a point on the boundary of the City of
Chula Vista as established by their Ordinance No. 810,
adopted October 9, 1962;
3. Thence northerly along said boundary to the northeast corner
of the west half of the southeast quarter of Quarter Section
89;
4. Thence continuing northerly along th~ boundary of the City
of Chula Vista as established by their Ordinance No. 623
adopted April 7, 1959, to the southwest corner of the
northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of said Quarter
Section 89;
5. Thence continuing along said boundary of the City of Chula
Vista as established by their Ordinance No. 1028 adopted
Novermber 22, 1966, North 71024,20'' East 665.30 feet to the
southeast corner of said northeast quarter of the northeast
quarter of said Quarter Section 89;
6. Thence North 18o42,30'' West along said city boundary to a
point in the southerly line of Telegraph Canyon Road
according to plat of County Road Survey No. 1086 on file in
the County Engineer's Office of said County;
7. Thence southeasterly along sa~d southerly line of said
Telegraph Canyon Road and the boundary of the City of Chula
Vista as established by their Ordinance 1337, adopted June
15, 1971, to a point in the easterly line of said Quarter
section 68;
8. Thence South along said easterly line to the point of
beginning.
