PLA -0 bi z- Coin vylollk Sept 12, 2017 Dear City Council, We would like to start off by saying thank you for all you do for the City of Chula Vista. We believe it is a special place that has great potential to add to its nostalgic history. Thanks for agreeing to hear some of the ideas we have to help reintroduced people to the newly renovated pedestrian friendly 3rd Avenue. Our family business Rico's On 3rd, as well as over 25 other small local businesses on 3rd are attempting to bring back the Car exhibit "Blast To the Past" to the community here in South Bay. With all the new up and coming small businesses the street has to offer, there is a lot of new energy of owners that want to get involved and help make it a success and give back to our beloved community. Bringing foot traffic to the north end of the street would be a great way to introduce the new businesses as well as bring people back to the already established businesses. This kind of networking can be vital to bringing such a big community like Chula Vista together. Our mission is to Honor the History of the Avenue as well as introduce the buzz around town called the "South Bay Uprise". Car shows really helped our business back almost 10 years ago keep our doors open with returning patrons who came to the shows every Tuesday in the summertime. It is exciting time to be apart of something that can be so special and memorable to the City of Chula Vista hoping to work alongside the CVPD and CV Fire Department to ensure safety. Promotions like this have worked for many revamped San Diego neighborhoods like EI Cajon, La Mesa, Little Italy, Old Town SD, and more recently Barrio Logan and Paradise Hills. With all the hate and craziness in the world, sometimes all we need is a free family friendly event like "Blast to the Past" to remember a simpler time in life, when you knew your neighbors and families and communities were united and close knit. Thank you again for agreeing to meet with us and hearing our ideas.
