It takes 200 calendar days from the date the fire pumper is ordered to assemble and deliver to the City. 2. The fire pumper the City would cooperatively purchase with the City of Los Angeles is the same model and manufacturer as the pumper the City purchased for $136,780 in 1985. This would assist the City in standardizing fire apparatus. This is an important fleet management objective from a standpoint of reducing the different types of parts required to be stocked and the training required by Equipment Mechanics. 3. The Fire Department has indicated it is more than satisfied with the fire pumper it purchased in 1985. 4. The price quoted to the City of Los Angeles is valid only until December 31, 1986. The cost of purchasing fire apparatus is increasing approximately 4% annually. If the City waits to purchase a fire pumper until FY 1987-88, the cost of the pumper would escalate by approximately ~4,000 above the current price assuming the pumper was ordered in July 1987. ~HEREAS, Seagrave Fire Apparatus, Inc. has extended a written offer to the City to purchase a fire pumper via a cooperative purchase arrangement with the City of Los Angeles at a cost of ~145,573 (including sales tax). -1- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does authorize the cooperative purchase of a fire pumper with the City of Los Angeles at a cost of ~145,573. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $145,573 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated General Fund Reserve to be transferred to the Equipment Replacement Fund for said fire pumper.
