SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA Thursday, May 11, 2017 Chula Vista High School, Classroom 807 3:30 p.m. 820 Fourth Avenue Chula Vista 91911 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL: Commissioners Cruz, de Murguia, Martinez, Milburn, Partida-Lopez, Quiroz, Velo, Vice Chair Jimenez and Chair Melgoza CONSENT CALENDAR The Board/Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one motion, without discussion, unless a Board/Commission Member, a member of the public, or staff requests that an item be removed for discussion. If you wish to speak on one of these items, please fill out a "Request to Speak" form and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. Items pulledf-onr the Consent Calendar will be discussed immediatelyfollowing the Consent Calendar. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM April 13, 2017 Staff recommendation: Review Attachment 1 and approve minutes. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law, generally prohibits the Board/Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff Comments are limited to three minutes. ACTION ITEMS The Item(s) listed in this section of the agenda will be considered individually by the Board/Commission and are expected to elicit discussion and deliberation. CHULA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL GARDEN TO CAFE'T'ERIA PROGRAM TOUR & UPDATE Maria Galleher from Chula Vista High School will provide a tour of the garden and update on their program to bring the garden to the school cafeteria. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Commission hear the presentation. REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT WELLNESS POLICY EVALUATION & DISTRICT UPDATES Deirdre Kleske, with the County of San Diego Health and Human Service Agency, will provide an overview of school wellness policy and the school nutrition environment, and how it aligns with the Healthy Chula Vista Action Plan, as well as a wellness policy update on Chula Vista Elementary School District and Sweetwater Union High School District.
