ACTION ITEMS a) DVBE update: Update on the City of Chula Vista’s Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) program. b) Fallen Veteran Memorial at Memorial Park. Discussion of placement of memorial and of possible replacement. Proposed Veterans monument/entry at Memorial Park collaboration with the New School of Architecture and Design Urban Impact class. c) Chula Vista Veterans Park Brick Program. Discuss inviting Director of Recreation, Krisi McClure Huckaby to September’s VAC meeting. Mariluz d) Fallen Heroes Banners at Otay Ranch Mall e) Veteran of the Year update/Lifetime Achievement Award development. f) Veteran Walk 2016 update. g) Home Depot Community Grant. Home Depot awarded a community grant to the VFW Post 2111 to build an accessible ramp to the Bobby Price Hall upstairs. h) Chair Wunder’s absence from August meeting. i) Veterans Activities Report: Commissioner Ramirez’s report on Veterans Activities for the month of August 2016.
