OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Meld Monday May 19, 1969
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista was held at 10 A.M., on the above date with the following Councilmen present:
Councilmen Sylvester, Hamilton, McCorquodale, McAllister, Scott
Absent: None
Also present: Administrative Officer pro rem Sullins, Assistant Administrative
Officer Thomson, Finance Officer Grant
BUDGET SESSION
The following is a summary of Council action taken relative to the City's
1969-70 preliminary budget. This summary is presented on an exception basis.
Only alterations to the proposed budget are included.
(1) It was moved by Councilman Hamilton, seconded by Councilman Scott,
and carried that to the Engineering Division personnel one associate civil engi-
neer and one assistant civil engineer be added and one position of junior civil
engineer be deleted.
(2) It was moved by Councilman McAllister, seconded by Councilman Scott,
and carried that the Special Gas Tax Project No. 117 be cancelled in the amount
of $155,500. The location and project was Hilltop Drive widening, "H" to "J"
Street.
3:02 P.M. - Councilman Hamilton left the Council table at this time.
(3) It was moved by Councilman McAllister, seconded by Councilman Syl-
vester, and carried that the Police Reserve account be increased $42.00 to allow
three representatives, instead of two, to attend the monthly meetings of the San
Diego Law, Enforcement Officers Association.
(4) It was moved by Councilman McAllister, seconded by Councilman Sylves-
ter, and carried that in the Building and Housing Inspection Department the posi-
tion of the additional assistant plan checker be extended to a full 12-month term.
Councilman Scott voted no.
(5) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Sylvester,
and carried that to the Engineering Division equipment be added one drafting stool,
one drafting table, one drafting machine and one drafting lamp in the amount of
$490.00.

The meeting was adjourned/until May 20, 1969, at 8:00 A.M.
