OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Held Tuesday May 20, 1969
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista was held at 8:00 A.M., on the above date with the following Councilmen present:
Councilmen Sylvester, Hamilton, McCorquodale, McAllister, Scott
Absent: None
Also present: Administrative Officer pro tem Sullins, Assistant Administrative
Officer Thomson, Finance Officer Grant
BUDGET SESSION
(1) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Hamilton,
and carried that in the capital improvement program, Park and Recreation section,
black topping for Greg Rogers School be added at a cost of $1,700.
(2) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Hamilton,
and carried that transfer of costs ($110) for advertising in the Yellow Pages,
Labor Leader Magazine and North Islander Magazine go from Recreation to Golf
Course, and that deletion of ads in the amount of $163.00 for Activity Programs,
Fiesta advertisement and Business Directory be carried out.
(3) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Hamilton,
and carried to make the following transfers: From Recreation to Golf Course the
costs for the Golf Course Superintendent's meetings in the amount of $50.00; from
Recreation to Golf Course, the costs for the Golf Course Superintendent's Associa-
tion in the amount of $50.00.
(4) It was moved by Councilman Sytvester, seconded by Councilman Hamilton,
and carried that to the Playgrounds account be added $8,606 for Saturday schedule
during school year, part-time supervision by recreation leaders.
(5) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Mayor McCorquodale,
and carried that to the Golf Course personnel one part-time groundsman-gardener
be deleted.
(6) It was moved by Councilman McAllister, seconded by Councilman Hamil-
ton, and carried that to the Planning Department personnel the position of one
Associate Planner be added.
(7) It was moved by Councilman Sylvester, seconded by Councilman Scott,
and carried that to the Planning Department equipment one desk and chair be added
for the additional associate planner at a cost of $290.00.
(8) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Sylvester,
and carried that $~22,00 be deleted from the Public Library for part-time monitor
services. Also, the monitor rate per hour was reduced to $2.00.
(9) It was moved by Councilman McAllister, seconded by Councilman Hamil-
ton, and carried that $10,000 for book purchases be added to the Library fund.
(10) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Sylvester,
and carried that rental of IBM equipment and cards be deleted from the Library
fund in the amount of $5,200.00~
(11) It was moved by Councilman Scott, seconded by Councilman Sylvester,
and carried that convex mirrors and the remodeling of the mezzanine area in the
Library be deleted in the amount of $10,200.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at ~ P.M., until May 21, 1969, at 8:00 A.M.
