McCorquodale, Mayor Subject: Special Meeting of Chula Vista City Council Notice of a special meeting pursuant to the provision of Section 307 of the Charter and Section 1.15 of the Chula Vista City Code, I am hereby calling a special meeting for the purpose of con- sidering the declaration of Monday, July 21, 1969, as a holiday in accordance with the wishes of the President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon, who has proclaimed said date as a national date of participation. This office in conjunction with the administrative office had heretofore proclaimed said date as a holiday through inadvertance in the belief that the action of Governor Reagan of the State of California in declaring said date a holiday for all state offices and all general law cities would also be applicable to the City of Chula Vista since the City of Chula Vista does adopt all holidays by the State of California. However, in the Code those holidays are adopted specifically and, therefore, it will require Council action to carry out the wishes of the President. The special meeting is set for 5:05 p.m., on Saturday, July 19, 1969, in the Council Chamber of the Civic Center, 276 Guava Avenue, Chula Vista, California. The sole purpose of the meeting is consideration of said declaration. ~ayor ' Approved as to form by George D./~n~berg, City Atto~---" Please sign and return to bearer to indicate waiver of the 24-hour notice requirement of the state Brown Act.
