The Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one motion,
without discussion, unless a Commissioner, a member of the public, or staff requests that

matter within the Commission’s jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda.
State law generally prohibits the Commission from discussing or taking action on any
issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Commission may schedule the
topic for future discussion or refer the matter to staff. Comments are limited to three
minutes.

3. CONSIDERATION FOR AN EARLY STEP INCREASE FOR CHRISTOPHER
BEARSS PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 1.05 I (2).
Staff recommendation: Commission approves the increase.
4. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVING AN EXTENSION OF THE FIRE CAPTAIN
ELIGIBLE LIST (RECRUITMENT #14551107P) TO APRIL 30, 2018.
Staff recommendation: Commission approves the extension.
5. CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE THE ADDITION OF THE FOLLOWING
CLASSIFICATION TO THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN PER THE CIVIL SERVICE
RULE 1.02 A (3)
A. Procurement Services Analyst (MM/PR)
Staff recommendation: Commission approves the additional classification.
6. NOMINATION OF THREE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION APPLICANTS TO BE
CONSIDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL TO FILL THE CIVIL SERVICE
COMMISION VACANCY FOR THE SEAT VACATED BY COMMISSIONER
REEVES ON FEBRUARY 16, 2017
Staff recommendation: Commission nominate three applicants to be considered by the
City Council to fill the vacant seat on the Commission.
