The Chamber of Commerce originally nominated Steve Miesen; however, on February 22, 2017, Mr. Miesen requested to withdraw his application. The Chamber of Commerce submitted Chris Lewis as an alternative nominee; however, Mr. Lewis is not an elector of the City and therefore does not meet the qualifications to serve on the COC. Today, the Chamber of Commerce submitted a new nominee, Zulema Maldonado, who has applied and is scheduled to interview this afternoon. Her application and resume are attached. The Chula Vista Fire Chief originally nominated Scott Vinson; however on February 28, 2017, Chief Geering withdrew his nomination. He will be making an alternative nomination soon. If his future nominee(s) submits a qualified application before Thursday interviews, he/she will be invited to interview Thursday evening. (250 words or less) My main concern is where the benefits of measure P are distributed, I love my community and I will love to be part of the success of our communities, to see the improvements of parks, streets ,technology, recreational centers, libraries, arts just to mentioned a few. Also as mother I want the best for the new generations to come and settled in our communities to succeed as I raised my kids. 24.
