SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION OF THE CI'T'Y OF CHULA VISTA Thursday, May 12, 2016 CV Promise Parent Center Room 801 5:00 p.m. Castle Park Elementary - 25 Emerson Street Chula Vista 91911 CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL: Commissioners Cruz, de Murguia, Martinez, Milburn, Partida-Lopez, Quiroz, Velo, Vice Chair Jimenez, and Chair Melgoza CONSENT CALENDAR The Board/Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one ?notion, without discussion, unless a BoardlCommission Member, a member of the public, or staff requests that an item be removed for discussion. If you wish to speak on one of these items, please fill out a "Request to Speak" form and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. Items pulled fron? the Consent Calendar will be discussed immediately following the Consent Calendar. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM April 14, 2016 Staff recommendation: Review Attachment 1 and approve minutes. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Board/Commission on any subject matter within the Board/Commission's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Board/Commission fi°om discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Board/Commission may schedule the topic far future discussion or refer the matter to staff Comments are limited to three minutes. ACTION ITEMS The Item(s) listed in this section of the agenda will be considered individually by the BoardlCommission and are expected to elicit discussion and deliberation. Ifyou wish to speak on any item, please fill out a "Request to Speak" form and submit it to the Secretary prior to the meeting. 2, BROWN ACT AND PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE City staff will provide an overview of the Brown Act and meeting procedures for boards and commissions. RECOMMENDED ACTION: None. PROMISE NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (.RLA) PRESENTATION Graduates of the Promise Neighborhood RLA will provide the commission with a presentation on their goals for the Castle Park Neighborhood. RECOMMENDED ACTION: None. 4. DISCUSSION OF ADJUSTING REGULAR MEETING START TIME Staff will present the Commission wuith a resolution for consideration to adjust the regular meeting start time of 4:00 p.m. RECOMMENDED ACTION: None. REMOVING SUGAR -SWEETENED BEVERAGES FROM CHILDREN'S MEALS AS DEFAULT OPTIONS (TIME CERTAIN START OF 6:00PM) A presentation will be provided by staff from the California Center for Public Health Advocacy regarding an ordinance the city is considering to replace sugar -sweetened beverages as default options on .children's meals with milk and water.. RECOMMENDED ACTION: None. OTHER BUSINESS 6. STAFF COMMENTS 7.
