A Special Meeting of the Healthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission of the City of Chula Vista was called to order at 4:07 p.m. in Conference Room BI It, located at 276 Fourth Avenue, Building C, Chula Vista, CA ROLL CALL PRESENT: Commissioners Cruz, De Murguia, Jimenez, Milburn, Partida- Lopez, Quiroz and Veto ABSENT: Commissioner Martinez and Chair Melgoza ALSO PRESENT: Senior Project Coordinator Kurz Deputy City Attorney Silva Office Specialist Sanguinet 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM May 12, 2016 Motion by Commissioner Cruz to approve the minutes Seconded by Commissioner Milburn Motion passed 7-0 PUBLIC COMMEN'T'S Juan Ramirez from Circulate San Diego informed the group of upcoming Walk+Bike events in Chula Vista. Deputy City Attorney Silva stated for the record that all present members affirmed the approval of the minutes on the Consent Calendar. ACTION ITEMS Vice Chair Ramirez moved to items 3 and 4 due to technical equipment issues. 3. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016/2017 Commissioner Cruz suggested not changing the Chair (Melgoza) and Vice Chair (Jimenez) for the new fiscal year since the Commission had elected them. in April. Motion to approve made by Commissioner Cruz; Seconded by Commissioner Milburn Motion 7-0 4. DISCUSSION OF ADJUSTING REGULAR MEETING START TIME & LOCATION The Commission discussed and determined that a 3:30 start time with a regular meeting location of Building C, Room B 111 will work for attendance. Commissioners again voiced their desire to move the meeting location throughout the community. Staff will put a resolution on the agenda for the next meeting. There was a short break for the Commission to move to Room B112 and then Vice Chair Ramirez introduced the County presentation. 2. CHULA VISTA CHRONIC DISEASE, BEHAVIORAL DATA & LIVEWELL PROGRAMS Maria Pena and Tina Emerick from the County of San Diego provided an overview of health statistics in the Chula Vista and Sweetwater Sub -Regional Area ("SRA") and resulting LiveWell efforts in Chula Vista. OTHER BUSINESS 4. STAFF COMMENTS Tabled until next meeting due to time. 5. CHAIR'S COMMENTS Tabled until next meeting due to time. 6. COMMISSIONERS'/BOARD MEMBERS' COMMENTS Tabled until next meeting due to time.
