HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2002-200- RESOLUTION NO. 2002-200 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA DESIGNATING THE HOUSE LOCATED AT 190 "K' STREET, THE ERLE HALLIBURTON HOUSE, AS A HISTORIC SITE, AND PLACING THAT STRUCTURE ON THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA'S LIST OF HISTORIC SITES, IN ACCORDANCE WITH MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.32.070(A) WHEREAS, the Erie Halliburton House is a bungalow style house located at 190 "K" Street in the City of Chula Vista (APN 573-500-03-00) constructed in 1929; and WHEREAS, staff received communication from the property owners, James and Bernadette Davis, requesting that the Erle Halliburton House be designated as a historical site on the City of Chula Vista List of Historic Sites; and WHEREAS, State of California Historic Eligibility Criteria requires that a site be found significant at a local, state, or national level, under one or more of the criteria for designation; and WHEREAS, the Resource Conservation Commission determined that the Erie Halliburton House meets one of the local criterion for designation because it is shown that it has distinguishing architectural characteristics that are identifiable; and WHEREAS, the Resource Conservation Commission determined that the Erle Halliburton House meets one of the local criterion for designation because it continues to have evidence of the original features. WHEREAS, the Resource Conservation Commission determined that the Erle Halliburton House meets one of the local criterion for designation because it relates to two persons of local historic significance. WHEREAS, the Resource Conservation Commission at their regular meeting on April 15, 2002, voted 4-0-0-3 (with Commissioners Reid, Bull, and Burrascano absent) to recommend that the City Council place the Erie Halliburton House on the City of Chula Vista List of Historic Sites; and WHEREAS, the Environmental Review Coordinator has determined that this project is exempt per the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Section 15331, Class 31, Historical Resources Restoration and Rehabilitation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve the designation of the Erie Halliburton House, 190 "K" Street, as a historic site and determines that it is hereby placed on the City of Chula Vista List of Historic Sites.
