HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2002-182 COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 2002-182 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AGREEMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002/2003 BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND VARIOUS COMMUNITY GROUPS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENTS WHEREAS, the City participates in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership (HOME) programs, a principal goal of which is to fund projects and services which will benefit low-income Chula Vista households; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista held a public hearing on March 5, 2002, to review and receive public comment on the draft consolidated annual plan for fiscal year 2002/2003; and WHEREAS, on May 14, 2002, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista approved the CDBG and HOME program budgets for fiscal year 2002/2003; and WHEREAS, the City is desirous of having certain services for the benefit of low-income households performed by the sub-grantees; and WHEREAS, the sub-grantees warrant and represent that they are experienced and staffed in a manner such that they can prepare and deliver the services required by the grantor within the timeframe herein provided all in accordance with the terms and conditions of this agreement; and WHEREAS, in the event that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) should withdraw the City's CDBG and HOME funding, the City is not obligated to compensate the sub-grantees for program expenditures. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve the following CDBG agreements and authorize the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista to execute said agreements for the purpose and amount stated on behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
