A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista was called to order at 3:34 p.m. in the Council Conference Room, located in City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmembers Davis, Padilla, Rindone, Salas ABSENT: Councilmembers: Mayor Horton ALSO PRESENT: Assistant City Manager Krempl, City Attorney Kaheny, and Deputy City Clerk Bennett CONSENT CALENDAR 1. URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 2855-C, URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING CHAPTER 3.50 OF THE CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO UPDATES IN THE PUBLIC FACILITIES DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES (PFDIF) TO PAY FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC FACILITIES WITHIN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA'S GENERAL PLAN AREA BOUNDARY On April 23, 2002, the Council approved Urgency Ordinance No. 2855-B, which is effective for thirty days only, amending Chapter 3.50 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code to increase the Public Facilities Development Impact Fees (DIF) from $2,618 to $4,888 per equivalent dwelling unit. The urgency ordinance contained other minor amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 3.50, as detailed in "Public Facilities DIF, 2002 Update" and as presented to the Council at its regular meeting of March 26, 2002. Ordinance No. 2855 was adopted by the Council on April 9, 2002. Adoption of the proposed urgency ordinance will enable the City to continue to collect the updated fees during the 60-day waiting period before Ordinance No. 2855 becomes effective. ACTION: Councilmember Davis moved to approve staWs recommendation and offered Urgency Ordinance No. 2855-C, heading read, text waived. The motion carded 4-0. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS There were none. ADJOURNMENT At 3:36 p.m., Deputy Mayor Padilla adjourned the meeting to the Regular Meeting of' May 28, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, and thence to an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Thursday, May 30, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. Lorraine Bennett, Deputy City Clerk
