OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
April 11, 2002 4:00 P.M.
An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista was called
to order at 4:07 p.m. in the Council Conference Room, located in City Hall, 276 Fourth
Avenue, Chula Vista, California.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Councilmembers Davis, Padilla, Rindone, Salas and Mayor Horton
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Rowlands, City Attorney Kaheny, City Clerk
Bigelow
1. DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED FIRE DEPARTMENT REORGANIZATION
AND PLANNED MAJOR EQUIPMENT PURCHASES
Members of the Fire Department's Apparatus Committee presented the request for and
justification to purchase two ladder trucks, one pumper and one light/air rescue vehicle.
Battalion Chief Peters discussed the proposed expansion of the training facility and the
addition of a warehouse building adjacent to Fire Station #2. Chief Perry presented the
department's reorganization needs and succession plan. It was noted that these items
would be presented for formal Council consideration at the meeting of April 23, 2002.
No action was taken at this meeting.

ADJOURNMENT
At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Horton adjourned the meeting to the Regular Meeting of April 16,
2002, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
