HIGH TECH HIGH WEST CHULA VISTA COMMUNITY COHORT PROJECT High Tech High students selected for the West Chula Vista community cohort will provide an overview of their community project process. Staff €-econ-rmendatiom Commissions hear the presentation. RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION AND HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION RESOLUTIONS TO ADOPT THE WATER STEWARDSHIP PLAN The City was awarded a grant of $135,000 from The San Diego Foundation and the Bloomberg Award for Local Sustainability Matching Fund — Funders Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities to develop the water plan. The Water Stewardship Plan is a guidance document for water conservation and reuse actions to conserve water and reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions. Staff Recommendation: Review Attachment I - Resource Conservation Commission and Healthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission recommend to Council to accept the Water Stewardship Plan for the City of Chula Vista. RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION RESOLUTION FOR NAME CHANGE The commissioners voted at their Judy 11, 2016, meeting to change the eomunission's name .to Sustainability Commission, Staff Recommendation: Review Attachment 2 - Resource Conservation Commission r(=mmend to Council to approve the name change to Sustainability Commission and direct staff to proceed in the process to clrangc the Municipal Code to reflect this change. HEALTHY CHULA VISTA ADVISORY COMMISSION RESOLUTION FOR THE "KIDS CHOICE CHULA VISTA" VOLUNTARY INCENTIVE PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE HEALTHY DEFAULT BEVERAGES IN CHILDREN'S MEALS A presentation will be provided by staff regarding a voluntary incentive program for food establishments to replace sugar -sweetened beverages as default options on children's meals with milk, water, and/or 100% fruit juice. On May 12'x', the Healthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission heard a presentation from the California Center for Public Health Advocacy regarding sugary - sweetened beverages. Staff recommendation: Review Attachment 3 - I-Iealthy Chula Vista Advisory Commission provide an advisory recommendation to Council regarding the approval of the Kids Choice Chula Vista Program. 5. AGE -FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES HOUSING DOMAIN DISCUSSION Stacey Kurz, Healthy Chula Vista Coordinator will provide a brief overview of the Age -Friendly Communities designation and lead a discussion on two of the Age Friendly Domains (Outdoor Spaces & Buildings and Respect & Social Inclusion) as it relates to residents aging in our community. Staff recommendation: The Commissions will break into working groups with at least one commissioner from each cornrnission and members of the public at the table.
