CALL TO ORDER
A Regula�.Meeting of the City Council of the City ol Chula Vista was called to order at 5:07p.m. in the
Council Chambers, located in City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, Calitomia.

Economic Development Director Crockett spoke regarding BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair. Cindy
Gompper-G2ves, 2p2senting the South County Economic Development Council, introduced Bob
Kcerber, General Manager and Vice President of BAE Systems, who gave a piesentation regarding the
oiganization. Mayror Casillas Salas read the proclamation and Deputy Ma}ror Miesen p2sented it to Mr.
Kcerber.

Councilmember McCann stated he would abstain from wling on Ifem 38 due to a potenlial
property-ielated conflict of inte�est.

THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE UP TO TWO ONE-YEAR
EXTENSIONS TO SAID AGREEMENT

8. 16-0362 CITY COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF CHARTER CHANGES
REGARDING THE CITY ATfORNEY AND LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
RECOMMENDED BY THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION FOR
PLACEMENT ON THE NOVEMBER 2016 BALLOT
Carre Rhamy, Chair, Charter Review Commission, spoke in support of the Council considenng the
Commission's recommendation in time for a measure to be placed on the ballof for the November 2016
election.
At the request of Mayo� Casillas Salas, there was consensus of a majonty of fhe Council to continue
discussion o/ the item to a joint workshop of the City Council and the Charter Review Commission at a
future date.
Mayor Casillas Sa/as recessed the meeting at 5:59p.m. The Council reconvenad at 6:30p.m., with all
members present.

9. 16-0330 Consideration of appointment of a voting delegate and alternate for the
2016 League of California Cities Annual Conference, to be held in Long
Beach, October 5 through 7.
ACTION: A motion was made by Councilmember McCann, seconded by Mayor Casillas
Salas, that Depury Mayor Miesen be appointed as the voting delegate and
Councilmember Bensoussan be appointed as the altemate for the 2016 League of
Califomia Cities Annual Conference.The motion carried by the following vote:

Councilmember Aguilar expressed gratitude to police officers.
City Attomey Gooyins announced thaf the Council wovld convene in closed session fo discuss Item 10
