CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meefing of the City Counci/ of the City of Chula Vista was called lo order at 5:08p.m. in the
Council Chambers, located in City Hall, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, Caldomia.

Gina Galvez-Mallan, Rich Grove, and Nina Hermosillo, representing Castle Park Middle School, spoke

SCHEDULE TO ESTABLISH A PERMIT FEE AMOUNT FOR THE
SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE ESTATES RESIDENTIAL PERMIT
PARKING DISTRICT
Notice of the hearing was given in accordance wi[h legal requi2ments, and the heanng was held on the

item.
Mayor Casillas Salas opened the public heanng.

the 7700 blocks of Gotham, Harvard, and Ithaca Streets.

enforcement time to 8 AM to 6 PM, and of onty enforcing paitcing on days when classes we/e session.

blocks o/Gotham, Harvard, and I[haca Streets, as proposed by M�. Muff.
- David Ayala, Chula Vista resident, and he spoke in support of the decision being delayed fo allow for
addiliona/discussion on the parking distnct boundanes and fees.

Councilmember McCann made a motion to adopt the resolution, as amended to set the eastem
boundary at the 7600 blocks of Elmhurst, Yale, Gotham, Harvard, and Ithaca Streets. The motion died
for lack of a second.
The2 being no other members of the public who wished to speak, Mayor Casil/as Salas closed the
public hearing.

ACTION: An amended motion was made by Councilmember McCann, seconded by
Councilmember Aguilar, that Resolution No. 2016-038 be adopted, as amended to
set the restricted parking hours to 8 AM to 5 PM; and exclude from the list of
restricted streets: Ithaca Court, Scripps Avenue, Tulane Avenue, and the 1700
blocks of Elmhurst, Gotham, Harvard, Ithaca, and Yale Streets, heading read, text
waived.The motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 5- Aguilar, Bensoussan,McCann, Miesen and Casillas Salas ,
No: 0
Abstain: 0

Mayor Casillas Sa/as announced a walking group study sponsored by the AARP thaf was being
conducted at the Norman Pa�ic Senior Centec She spoke regarding the recent g�and opening of the Bus
Rapid Transit, a reception for Southwestem College Superintendent Karen Janney, and a celebration of
the 89th anniversary o/the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce.

City Attomey Googins reported on the racenf Interview Day at High Tech High.
