ZOl b-036 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUI�TCIL OF THE CITI' OF CHULA VISTA AMENDII�'G THE COMPENSATION SCHEDULE AI�TD CLASSIFICATION PLAI� TO REFLECT THE .ADDITIOI�' AI�'D REMOVAL OF VARIOUS POSITIO\ TITLES AND Ah4ET'DII�'G THE AUTHORIZED POS[TION COUTTT IN VAR]OUS DEPARTMENTS WITH NO NET CHANGE IN AUTHORIZED STAFFII�'G A'HEREAS, Civil Service Rule 1.02(A). ���hich applies to the Citv`s dassified positions, provides for necessar�� re��iews and changes so that the Cih�'s classification plan is kept current. and that chanees in existing classes, the establishment of ne��� classes or the abolition of classes aze properl�� reflected in the classification plan; and WHEREAS. in an effort to address the needs of ��arious depanments and the Citv's N�orkforce, the Human Resources Department is proposing various ne��� dassifications and the reclassification of cenain positions: and WHEREAS. in September 20li. the Califomia Legislamre enacted le2islation signed b�� the Go��emor of California. ���hich included raisine the minimum �ti�aee to $]0.00 effecti��e Januar�� 1. 2016: and ��JHEREAS, to ensure compliance ���ith the State's minimum �+�ase la�v and to maintain the existing salarv ties ti�ithin the hourly Recreation dassification series. staff proposed a salan� adjustment for the follow�ing unclassified hourly positions effective December 2�. 2015: Recreation Aide, Recreation Leader 1/II, and Recreation Specialist; and �'�'HEREAS. staff later determined nvo unclassified hourlv dassifications that are intemally aligned (`tied") ���ith the aforementioned Recreation classification series �+�ere inad��ertently not included and, as a result, staff is requestine an appropriate adjustment for the Tin� Tot Aide and Tiny Tot Specialist classifications; and V�'HEREAS. a summan� of the proposed updated classifications and their E-Step salaries aze as follows: .., �, , _ , . _ _ Positon Tdle ' ,, ry.��;' _ PCN �a�� Bargaming;Group _= EStep Salary -4a I Tiny Tot Aide I 7503 Unclassified Hourty I ' $16.01 per hour I Tiny Tot Specialist I 7505 Unclassified Hourly I $19.21 per hour I N0�4'. BE IT RESOLVED bv the Cit�� Council of the Cit�- of Chula Vista. that it approves the amendments to the Compensation Schedule and Classification Plan to reflect the chanees described abo��e.
