AND CITY OPERATION OF THE FACILITY WITH THE USOC AS ITS PRIMARY TE\'A\TT FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR 1'EARS (WITH EXTENSIOt�'S) W%HEREAS, in 2014, the United States Ol��mpic Comminee (`USOC") approached the Cit�� to inquire if the Citv ���ould be interested in tal:ing title to the Chula Vista Oh�npic Trainine Center ("CVOTC") land and impro��ements and to continue operating the facilit�� as a USOC Trainine Site: and W"HEREAS. neeotiations commenced bet�veen the Cit�� and the USOC, and in June 201�. the parties entered into a memorandum of understandine to establish eaclusive neeotiatine terms and to establish preliminar}� terms and a frame���ork for creating final terms and�conditions for USOC transfer and operatine aereements; and N'HEREAS, the Cin�'s negotiating team has been working dili�entl�� to develop the terms, conditions and frameti�ork for the proposed transfer and operatine aereements and has presented those to the Cirv Council; and _ V��HEREAS; Cit�� staff���il] pro��ide additional details durine its presentation on this item and. if appro��ed by the Council, �vill return on Februarv 16, 2016 �rith the final agreements for approval; and \�'HEREAS, based on the proposed terms presented to it, the Cin� Council desires that City staff continue ���ith the negotiations to bring fon+azd final aereements for the Cit�� Council s appro��al. NOA7. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED bv the Cit�� Council of the Cin� of Chula Vista. that it appro��es the proposed terms of the USOC transfer and operatine agreements; in the form presented, w�ith such minor modifications as ma�� be required or approved by the Cit�� Attomev; and authorizes and directs the City's negotiatine team to proceed �vith nesotiations; pursuant to the terms presented, and directs staff to return as soon as reasonably possible to present the final aereements to the Cit�� Council for consideration and appro��al.
