HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-12-2015_ RCC MinutesMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA October 12, 2015 5:00 PM A Regular Meeting of the Resource Conservation Commission of the City of Chula Vista was called to order at 5:04 pm in the Executive Conference Room 103, Building A, located at 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Commissioners Kappes, Rahimzadeh, Valen, Sedgwick (arrived at 5:06 pm) and Chair Romo ABSENT: Commissioners Coleman and Mora MOTION TO EXCUSE: none STAFF PRESENT: Environmental Services Manager France, Recycling Specialist Medrano and Sr. Secretary Lindsey APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Commissioner Kappes moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on August 10, 2015 as corrected. The correction being to remove Commissioner Kappes' vote on the motion to adjourn the meeting because she had already left the meeting earlier. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Valen and it was carried by the following vote: Yes — 4 Kappes, Rahimzadeh, Valen and Romo No--O PUBLIC COMMENTS: none INFORMATION ITEMS 1. Recycling Specialist Medrano gave a presentation about the Household Hazardous Waste Program and Events. ACTION ITEMS none ACTIVITY REPORT There is nothing to add to the Activity Report from this meeting STAFF COMMENTS Environmental Services Manager France informed the commission about a request from the Public to have the recordings of RCC meetings available on the City's website. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS Commissioner Valen reported on the Wildlife Advisory Group .(WAG) meeting that he and Commissioner Coleman attended. A handout was provided to the commissioners. He also reported that the Bayfront Cultural Design Committee (BCDC) has not met. Commissioner Rahimzadeh suggested other subjects that could be presented as Information Items to the commission. Page 1 of 2 Resource Conserpation Commission Minutes October 12, 2015 CHAIR'S COMMENTS Chair Roma would like the commission to recommend to the City Council that they adopt personal climate change actions to offset the environmental impact of their activities. He would also like the commission to recommend to the City Council that they recognize Ride to Work Day with a proclamation. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Rahimzadeh moved to adjourn the meeting.
