REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CALLTO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the City Council o/ fhe Ciry of Chula Vista was called to order at 5:07 p.m. in fhe
Council Chambers, located in City Ha1L 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, Calrfomia.
Ma}ror Salas announced the Chufa Visla Art Guild's 70th Anniversary and stated an exhibit was installed
in the City Hall lobby.

Jerry Thomas, Chula Vista resident, spoke in support of installing a regulation soccer field, dog park,
and safe playground at Orange Park, and submitted wntten documentation.
Jon Froomin, City o( Coronado Chief of Police, recognized the City o( Chula Vista and its emp/oyees
whom provided support fo�the Special Olympics World Games host town events.
CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS
City Manager HalbeR provided an update on [he status of an agreement between the City and [he
United States Olympic Committee iegarding the operation of[he Olympic Training Center.

Ma}ror Salas spoke rega`ding the City's Ribbons & Shovels Awards (forme�y fhe Beautification Awards).
She recognized City employees and othe� supporters of the Special Olympics World Games host ciry
activities and spoke 2garding fhe recent South Park Walkabout evenL She provided information on a
2cent meeting wifh loca/ water agencies and stated fhe Inte2gency Water Task Force wuuld be
reinstituted. Ma}ror Salas announced the upcoming Lemon Fest event on Augusl 2, 2075.
COUNCILMEMBERS' COMMENTS
Deputy Mayor Bensoussan spoke regaNing the following recent and upcoming events: Lemon Festival
on August 2, 2015, Farm to Bay £undraise� at the Living Coast Discovery Center on August 8, 2075, the
2cent Seven Mile Casino opening, an art installation on the Bayfronl, and the upcoming HalboAest
event on August 22, 2075.
Councilmember Aguilar spoke regafding a recent tour of the cross-border exp/ess tenninal, which would
include a pedestnan bndge from the border to the Tijuana aiiport, as well as other travel amenities.
Councilmember McCann thanked the volunteers and participants of the racent Relay for Life and
2ported on the event. He also spoke regarding the upcoming Lemon Festival.
City Attomey Googins announced that the Council would oonvene in closed session to discuss the item
listed below.

Councilmember Miesen abstained from participating on Ilem 9A. He IeR the ioom dunng discussion on
the item.
