HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1991-16069 RESOLUTION NO. 16069 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING COUNCIL POLICY AND ESTABLISHING THE ORDER OF BUSINESS AT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Chula Vista Municipal Code Section 2.04.150 requires the order of business at City Council meetings to be established by resolution of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the order of business at City Council meetings has previously been established by resolution and/or minute order of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, at its February 5, 1991 meeting, the City Council discussed a staff report regarding potential changes to the City Council Agenda format, specifically whether routine items should be placed on the Consent Calendar with those items expected to require specific action or discussion by the City Council placed under a new "Action Items" section on the Council Agenda; and, WHEREAS, at its February 19, 1991 meeting, the City Council determined to modify the order in which it conducts business at City Council meetings; and, WHEREAS, it is desirable to place the order of business in a Council Policy so that it can be easily found and referred to. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby repeal all previous resolutions and/or minute orders relating to the establishment of the order of business for City Council meetings. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the attached Council Policy establishing the order of business at City Council meetings is hereby adopted. It is desirable that such a resolution be easily located and referred to, and therefore, placed in the Policy Manual. PURPOSE: To establish the order of business at City Council meetings. POLICY: Except upon the consent of a majority Of the Council that items may be taken out of the followin9 order~ items shall be taken up in the followin9 Order at City Council meetings: 1.
