�'HEREAS, the Human Resources Department has created neti� classifications to better
reflect the needs of the Cit��'s workforce: and
WHEREAS, Chula Vista City Charter Section �00(a) requires that all new unclassified
management level positions be adopted b}� ordinance and a four-fifths ��ote of the Council.
NOW. THEREFORE. the Ciri� Council of the Cirv of Chula Vista does ordain as follows:
Section I. That Section 2.0�.010 of the Chula Vista n4unicipal Code is hereb��
amended to read as follo���s:
2.0�.10 Unclassified positions established.
In In addition to those unclassified positions specifically delineated in Section �00 of the Charter
of the Cit}�, there are established the unclassified positions entitled: Administrati��e Secretan�

Section II. Severabilih�
lf any poRion of this Ordinance, or its application to any person or cirwmstance, is for
am� reason held to be invalid; unenforceable or unconstitutional, b�� a court of competent
jurisdiction. that portion shal] be deemed severable, and such invalidity, unenforceability or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining portions of the
Ordinance, or its application to any other person or circumstance. The City Council of the Citv of
Chula Vista hereby dedares that it would have adopted each section, sentence, clause or phrase
of this Ordinance, irrespective of the fact that any one or more other sections; sentences, dauses
or phrases of the Ordinance be declared invalid, unenforceable or unconstitutional.
Section Ill. Construction
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista intends this Ordinance to supplement, not to
duplicate or contradict, applicable state and federal law and this Ordinance shall be construed in
light of that intent.
Section IV. Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on the thiRieth day after its final passage.
Section V. Publication
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause
the same to be published or posted according to law.
