HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 5b - Annual Activity ReportANNUAL ACTIVITY REPORT CITY OF CHULA VISTA BOARDS & COMMISSIONS FISCAL YEAR 2014 -2015 Board /Commission: Planning Commission Highlights of Activities during the past fiscal year: June 2014 Approved an amendment to the Chula Vista Coastal Program Land Use Plan and Specific Plan in support of the Bayfront development. July 2014 Approved an amendment to the Restated and Amendment Pre - Annexation Development Agreement between Otay Land Company and the City of Chula Vista — Otay Ranch Planned Community related to future development of Villages 8W and 9. August 2014 Approved a Conditional Use Permit for the Master Plan of Church of Joy and Lutheran High School to allow further development of the school, an athletic field, and a church. Approved a General Plan Amendment - technical corrections to Policy E 6.4 of the Chula Vista General Plan Environment Element related to the consideration of various types of energy generation facilities in the City. Approved PCM 14 -04 Amending the City of Chula Vista Urban Core Specific Plan and related zoning. This rezoned multi - family residential and certain commercial zoned parcels for consistency with the General Plan and urban core land use sub - districts (provides property owners with more development options). October 2014 Approved PCZ 13 -02 —the rezoning of 3875 Main Street from Limited Industrial to Residential in preparation for the Stone Creek Casitas project. Approved a Wireless Telecommunication Facility located in a private park used by the Little League and Adjacent to Salt Creek Community Park. Nov 2014 Approved a subdivision of a .98 acre site into five (5) single lots at 386 Date Street in the Broderick's Acres neighborhood. Reviewed and considered changes to the Growth Management Ordinance and adoption of the Growth Management Implementation Manual resulting from the top -to- bottom review of the City's growth management programs. Considered and approved the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Otay Ranch University Villages Sectional Planning Area Plans, General Plan amendment, General Development Plan Amendment and Tentative maps involving Villages 3, 8 east and 10. January 2015 Approve DRC 14 -11 Design Review of 41 multi - family condominiums (Tosara Condominiums) in Otay Ranch Village 2, Neighborhood R -10A and Planned Community District (RM -2). February 2015 Approved DRC 14 -06 / PCC 14 — 055 for a new 114,760 square -foot Self Storage unit on Fenton Street in the Eastlake Business Center. April 2015 Denied recommendation of GPA 12 -03 — an amendment to the Otay Ranch General Development Plan including the Development Agreement involving portions of the Otay Ranch Freeway Commercial North Plan area. May 2015 Approved DRC 14 -10 —to combine two (2) lots and redevelop the area with a 42 -unit residential condominium project for individual ownership, currently known as the Industrial Boulevard Condominium project, near the Palomar Trolley Station. June 2015 DC 13 -26 /PCC 14 -023 — a Residence Inn by Marriott of 30,121 square feet that contains 148 guest rooms. It is located in the Otay Ranch Freeway Commercial Neighborhood — more specifically bordered by Olympic Parkway / Town Center Drive / and SR -125.
