RESOLUTION OF INTENTION No. .
A RESOLUII(`d3 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF CHULA VISTA DECLARING ITS INTEIITION TO
IMPROVE PORTIONS OF F STREET, BONITA STREST AND
FIFTH AVENUE, IN SAID CITY, AND DESCRIBING THE
DISTRICT TOr SE AS"E':SED TO PAY THE CWT AND EX-
PENSES OF SAID IMPROVEMENT.

The Board. of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista do resolve as
( . follows:
1 SECTION 1.
That the public interest and convenience requires and it is the inten- ~-,
tion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista to order the follow-
hag improvements to be made in said City, to-wit:
FIRST: That all of the center eighteen (18) feet of the roadway of F
Street, from a lino drawn parallel with and forty (40) feet Easterly from
the Easterly line of Fourth Avenue to the Westerly line of Fifth Avenue; all
of the center eighteen (18) feet of the roadway of Fifth Avenue, from the
Northerly line of F Street to a line drawn parallel with and eleven (11) feet
Southerly from the Westerly prolongation across Fifth Avenue of the Southerly
line of Bonita Street; and all of the center eighteen (18) feet of the road-
way of Bonita Street, from the Easterly line of Fifth Avenue to a line drawn
parallel with and six hundred (600) feet Easterly from the center line of
Fifth Avenue; all that portion of Fifth Avenue, Bonita Street, F Street and
the interesection of Fifth Avenue and Bonita Street, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Fifth Avenue, distant thirty-one
(31) feet South from the center line bf Bonita .Street; thence Westerly nine (9)
feet parallel with the Westerly prolongation of the center line of Bonita t:treet;
thence Northeasterly along a curve concave Southeasterly having a radius of
forty (40) feet, a distance of sixty-two and eighty-three hundredths ( 62,83)feet;

parallel with the center line of Fifth Avenue nineteen (19) feet to the
beginning of a' curve concave Northwesterly hating a radius of fifty (50)
feet; thence Southwesterly along said curve seventy-eight and four hun-
dreths• (78.04) feet; thence Easterly parallel with the center line of •
F Street nineteen (19) feet; thence Southerly- parallel with the center line

Fourth Avenue intersects a line drawn parallel with and nine' (9) feet

of beginning, be graded and paved to the official line and grade with
. a Bituminous Base four (4) inches in thickness and with an Asphalt;
Concrete pavement wearing surface one and one-half (1-1/2) inches in thickness •
in accordance with Plan 306A, and in further accordance with Specifica-
tions No. 3, for the construction of AsphaltOnnonetepavement on Bituminous •
Base in the City of Chula Vista.
SECOND: That all of the center eighteen (18) feet of the roadway of
Bonita Ctreet, from a line drawn parallel with and six hundred (600) feet •
Easterly from the center line of Fifth Avenue, to the Easterly boundary line •
of the City of Chula Vista, be graded and paved to the official line and
grade with a Portland Cement Concrete Pavement five (5) inches in thickness,
in accordance with Plan No. 306A,, and in further accordance with Specifications
No. 2, for the Construction of Cement Curbs, Sidewalks, and Gutters; Portland
Cement Concrete Pavement; Warrenite Pavement on Bituminous Base; and Standard
Guard Fence, in the City of Chula Vista.
THIRD: That forty (40) feet of cement curb be constructed at the inter-
section of Bonita Street with Fifth Avenue along the following described
line:
Beginning at a point where a curve concave Southeasterly and having
a radius of sixty (60) feet, whose center litio lies forty-nine (49) feet
Southerly and twenty-nine (29) feet Easterly from the Southeast corner of
Bonita Street and Fifth Avenue, is intersected by a line drawn parallel
with and fifteen (15) feet Westerly from the Easterly line of Fifth Avenue;
thence Northeasterly along said curve forty (40) feet.
Said curb to be constructed in accordance with Plan No. 306A,
and in further accordance with Specifications No. 2, for the Construction
of Cement Curbs, Sidewalks and Gutters; Portland Cement Concrete Pavement;
Warrenite Pavement on Bituminous Base; and Standard Guard Fence, in the
City of Chula Vista.
SECTION 2. That said contemrlated work or improvement-in the opinion of
said Board of Trustees is of more than local or ordinary public bone-

fit and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter
described and said Board of Trustees hereby declares that the dis-
trict in the said City of Chula Vista benefited by said work or imp-
rovement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, is

described as follows:

All that portion of the City of Chula Vista included within i€
the. following described exterior boundary line, to-wit: Beginning at
the intersection of the center linesof H Street and Fourth Avenue; .
thence Southerly along the center line: of Fourth Avenue to the center
line of First Street; thence Easterly along the center line of First
Street to the Easterly boundary line of the City of Chula Vista;
thence Northerly and Westerly along the Easterly and Northerly boundary
lines of the City of Chula Vista to an intersection with the produced
center line of Bay Boulevard, said point being situated nineteen
hundred and eighty (1980) feet, more or less, Westerly from the center
line of National Avenue; thence Southerly along said produodd center
line and said center line of Bay Boulevard to the center line of H
Street; thence Easterly along said center line of H Street to the
center line of Fourth Avenue, the point of beginning, excepting there-
from any portion of any public street or alley included. therein.
The following parcels of land included within said assess-
ment district above mentioned are hereby declared to be in use for
the performance of public functions, and shall be omitted from the
assessment hereafter to be made to cover the costs and expenses of said
work or improvement.
THE GRAMMAR SCHOOL SITE; being all except the Easterly thirty
(30) feet of Lot 16, Quarter Section 137, and all of Lot 17, (excepting
therefrom the Railway Right of Way), Quarter Section 137.
THE PUBLIC LIBRARY SITE; being the Westerly Two Hundred Twenty
(220) feet of the Easterly Two Hundred Fifty (250) feet of Lot 19, of
Quarter Section 137.
The Easterly one hundred twenty four ( 24) feet of the Westerly
half of Lot 12, Quarter Section 148, being property owned by the City of
Chula Vista. -4-

San Diego Land and Town Company's map of Chula Vista as per map No.
505 thereof filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Diego
County, California. March 13,1888.
Lot 3 of Chula Vista Realty Company's subdivision No. 2; as
per map No. /44..,thereof filed in the office of the County Recorder

THE CITY HALL SIRE ; being Lot 14, Block E of Mohnikes Sub-
division as per map No. 1284 thereof filed in the office of the County
Recorder of San Diego County, California. September 12, 1910.
Reference is hereby made to Map No. 307, adopted for said work,
in which the assessment district referred to is shown within red colored
border lines.
SECTION 3. Notice is hereby given that aerial bonds to represent unpaid
assessments for the expense of said proposed work and improvement, which
bonds shall bear interest at the rate of seven per cent per annum, will
be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "Improvement Bond Act of
1915", the last installment of which bonds shall mature nine ye-rs from the
second day of July next succeeding nine months from their date. S
All the herein proposed work, except as herein above stated,

shall be done in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of
California, designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911," approved April 7,
1911, and the amendments thereto.
SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that on the 4 ' •..day of October, 1921,
at the hour of 8:00 P.M. of said day, at the Council Chamber of the Board of
Trustees of said City of Chula Vista, in the City Hall situated on the Westerly
side of Third Avenue, just Northerly of F Street in said City, is hereby fixed
and designated as the day, hour and place, when and where any and all persons
having any objections to the proposed work or improvement herein designated,
may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause, if any they have, why
said proposed improvements should not be carried out in accordance with the
provisions of the Resolution, of Intention.

SECTION 5. The City Engineer is directed to make a diagra"n of the prop-
erty affected or benefited by the proposed work or improvement as• dee-
cribed i_: this Resolution of Intention and to be ,.: cebred to pay the

off ice of the City Engineer of the said City. All specifications
referred to herein are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City. Said Naps, Plans and Specifications are hereby referred to for
a more particular description of said work and made a part hereof.
a ECTICN 7 • The Chula Vista i tar, a weekly newspaler of g noral cir-
culation, published and circulated in said City of Chula Vista, is
hereby designated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Inten-
tion and notice of the passage thereof shall be published in the
manner and by the persons required by law.
SECTION 8. The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall immed-
iately cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said con-
templated work or improvement, and in front of all property to he assessed
and along all the open streets within the above described assessment dis-
trict, notices of the passage of this Resolution or Intention in the
manner and form required by law.
SECTION 9. The City Clerk of said City of Chula Vista is hereby directed
to cause this Resolution of Intention to be published by two insertions in
the manner required by law in said. Chula Vista Star.
