RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. ___
A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista
declaring its intention of improving portions of Third Street, Country
Club Drive, and intersecting streets and avenues in said City, and
describing the district to be assessed to pay the cost and expenses of
said improvement.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista do resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1: That the public interest and convenience requires and
it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista
to order the following described portions of Third Street, Country Club
Drive, and intersecting streets and avenues graded to a width of thirty
(30) feet, said thirty (30) foot strip being situated fifteen (15) feet
either side of center line "A" hereinafter described, and that a Bitu-
minous Base Pavement three (3) inches in thickness with a Warrenite
wearing surface one and one-half (1-1/2) inches in thickness be con-
structed upon said portions of Third Street, Country Club Drive and inter-
secting streets and avenues, eighteen (18) feet in width, said eighteen
(18) foot strip berg situated nine (9) feet either side of said center
line "A". Said Grading and Paving to extend from a line nine (9) feet
Easterly from and parallel with the Easterly line of Third Avenue, to the
Southerly boundary line of the City of Chula Vista and to be done in ac-
cordance with Plan No. 301, Sheets No. 1 and 2, and in further accordanc5
with specifications No. 2 for the construction of cement curbs, sidewalks,
and gutters; Portland cement concrete pavement; Warrenite pavement on
bituminous base; and standard guard fence in the City of Chula Vista.
Center line "A" is described as follows, towit: Beginning at a
point on the center line of Third Street where the same is intersected by
a line nine (9) feet Easterly from and parallel with the Easterly line of
Third Avenue; thence North 71° East along the center line of Third Street

to a point thereon distant 760 feet Easterly from the Easterly line of
Fourth Avenue; thence Southeasterly along a curve concave Southwesterly
having a radius of 640 feet a distance of 596.86 feet to the point of
beginning of a curve concave Northeasterly having a radius of 740 feet;
thence Southeasterly along said curve 447.74 feet to the point of begin-
ping of a curve concave Southwesterly having a radius of 240 feet; thence
Southeasterly along said curve 209.58 feet to the point of beginning of a
curve concave Westerly having a radius of 660 feet; thence Southerly
along said curve 399.33 feet; thence South 5° 32' East 323.78 feet more
or less to an intersection with the Southerly boundary line of the City
of Chula Vista.
Also that the following described portion of Third Street and its
intersection with Third Avenue: beginning where a line drawn parallel
with and nine (9) feet Easterly from the Easterly line of Third Avenue,
intersects a line drawn parallel with and nine (9) feet Northerly from
the center line of Third Street; thence Northwesterly along a curve
concave Northeasterly having a radius of forty (40) feet to an intersec-
tion with the prolongation across Third Avenue of the Northerly line of
Third Street; thence Westerly along the Westerly prolongation across
Third Avenue of the Northerly line of Third Street 35.06 feet; thence
Southwesterly along a curve concave Northwesterly having a radius of
forty (40) feet to the Southerly prolongation across Third Street of
the Westerly line of Third Avenue; thence Southerly along said Southerly
prolongation• of said Westerly line of Third Avenue 25.12 feet; thence
Southeasterly along a curve concave Southwesterly having a radius of
forty (40) feet to the Easterly prolongation across Third Avenue of the
Southerly line of Third Street; thence Easterly along said Easterly pro-
longation of said Southerly line of Third Street 35.06 feet; thence North-
easterly along a curve concave Southeasterly having a radius of forty (40)
feet to an intersection with a line drawn nine (9) feet Easterly from and
parallel with the Easterly line of Third Avenue; thence Northerly along

said lines so drawn parallel with the Easterly line of Third Avenue
eighteen (18) feet to the point of beginning, excepting therefrom such
portion of said intersection herein described as may be required by law
to be kept in order or repair by any person or company having railroad
tracks thereon, be graded and paved with a Bituminous Base three (3)
inches in thickness and with a Warrenite Wearing Surface one and one-
half (1-1/2) inches in thickness, in accordance with Plan No. 301, .Sheets
1 and 2, and Specifications No. 2 heretofore referred to.
Also that three (3) corrugated iron culverts, each fifty-six (56)
feet in length, five (5) feet in diameter, and constructed of twelve (12)
gauge metal, together with the necessary concrete headwalls, be constructed
across the roadway of Country Club Drive at a point measured along the
center line of Third Street and Country Club Drive eleven hundred (1,100)
feet Easterly from the center line of Fourth Avenue. The location and
details of said culverts being shown on Plan No. 301, Sheets 1 and 2, here-
inbefore referred to.
SECTION 2: Reference is hereby made to Warrenite License Mixture
(
Agreement of Warren Brothers Company, dated September 7 , 1920, and on
file in the office of the Superintendent of Streets of the City of Chula
•
Vista.
SECTION 3: That said contemplated work or improvement in the opinion
of said Board of Trustees is of more than local or ordinary public benefit
and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter described
and said Board of Trustees hereby declares that the district in the said
City of Chula Vista benefited by said work or improvement and to be assessed
to pay the costs and expenses thereof, is described as follows:
All that portion of the City of Chula Vista included within the fol-
lowing described exterior boundary line, towit:

Beginning at a point on the Northerly boundary line of the City of
Chula Vista, distant eight hundred five (805) feet South 71° 39' West
from the Westerly line of National Avenue;

Thence South 69° 59' West 1280 feet;
Thence South 18° 01' East 950 feet;
Thence North 69° 29' East 1200 feet;

Thence Easterly, Northerly and Westerly along the Southerly, Easterly
and Northerly boundary line of the City of Chula Vista to the point of
beginning, excepting therefrom any portion of any public street or alley
included therein.
The following parcels of land included within said assessment district
above mentioned are hereby declared to be in use for the performance of
public functions, and shall be omitted from the assessment hereafter to be
made to cover the costs and expenses of said work or improvement.
The Grammar School site: being all except the Easterly thirty (30)
feet of Lot 16, Quarter Section 137. The Public Library site: being the
Westerly two hundred twenty (220) feet of the Easterly two hundred fifty
(250) feet of Lot 19 of Quarter Section 137 as said Quarter Section 137
is shown on San Diego Land and Town Co's Map of Chula Vista, as per Map
No. 505 thereof filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Diego
County, California, March 13, 1888. The City Hall site: being Lot 14,
Block E of Mohnikes Subdivision, as per Map No. 1284 thereof, filed in the
office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, California, September 12,
1910.
Reference is hereby made to Map No. 276, adopted for said work, in which
the assessment district referred to is shown within red colored border lines.

SECTION 4: The Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista determines
that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments of twenty-five
($25.00) dollars or over for the cost of said work or improvement; said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from and after .
the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even
annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on
the second day of,January every year after their date until the whole is paid;
and the interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days
of January and July respectively of each year, at the rate 'of seven (7) per
cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said principal and interest
are paid. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an
Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the "Improve-
ment Act of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and the amendments thereto.
SECTION 5: Notice is hereby given that on the z$ day Of September,
1920; at the hour of 7:30 P.M. of said day, at the Council Chamber of the
Board of Trustees of said City of Chula Vista, in the City Hall, situated on
the Westerly side of Third Avenue, just Northerly of F Street in said City,
is hereby fixed and designated as the day, hour and place, when and where any
and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement
herein designated, may appear before said Board of Trustees and show cause if
any they have, why said proposed improvements should not be carried out in
accordance with the provisions of this Resolution of Intention.
SECTION 6: The City Engineer is directed to make a diagram of the
property affected or benefited by the proposed work or improvement as de-
scribed in this Resolution of Intention and to be assessed to pay the expenses
thereof. Such diagram shall show each separate lot, piece or parcel of land,
the area in square feet in each of said lots, pieces or parcels of land, the
relative location of the same to the work proposed to be done, all within
the limits of the assessment district.
SECTION 71 All Plans referred to in this Resolution are on file in the

office of the City Engineer of the said City. All specifications referred
to in this Resolution are on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City; Said Plans and Specifications are hereby referred to for a more particu'-
lar description of said work and made a part hereof.
SECTION 8: The Chula Vista Star, a weekly newspaper of general circula-
tion, published and circulated in said City of Chula Vista, is hereby desig-
nated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Intention, and notice of
the passage thereof, shall be published in the manner and by the persons
required by law.
SECTION 9: The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall immediately
cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated work or
improvement, and in front of all property to be assessed, and along all the
open streets within the above described assessment district, notices of the
passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form required by law.
SECTION 10: The City Clerk of said City of Chula Vista is hereby directed
to cause this Resolution of Intention to be published by two insertions in
the manner required by law in said Chula Vista Star.
