Development Services Director Broughton infroduced the item and provided information on public feedback that had been received felated to the item. Senior Planner Walker gave a presentation on the item. Mayor Salas opened the public hearing. Matt Adams, representing the Building Industry Association of Califomia, spoke in support o/ sta/f's �ecommendation and commended City staff lor fheir work. Kevin O'Neill, Chula Visfa resident, spoke in support o/staffs recommendation. Jeff Sfephenson, Chula Vista resident, expressed support for additional grocery stores in Chula Vista. There being no othe� members of the public who wished to speak, Mayor Salas closed the public heanng. Staff responded to questions and comments(rom the Council. Councilmembe� McCann spoke in suppoR of the Urban Core Specific Plan and also promoting new stores, resfaurants, andqualityhousing.
