Original Resolution Missing
Excerpt from minutes of Board of Trustees Meeting of
February 5, 1916
The following Resolution (No.10) was introduced and read:
"Whereas, it is proposed to consider a comprehensive
plan of permanently improving a part of the highways and
bridges in San Diego County, and whereas of necessity
these highways will pass over the streets of a number of
incorporated cities, which streets will become a part of
the system of the State and County Highways, and be used
more extensively for general than local travel; and
whereas, the expense of the paving of these units of the
State and County Highways would be extremely burdensome
to the property owners of said municipalities, and seemingly
unwarranted by the virtue of their general use and value
to the entire city and county of San Diego;
Therefore, be it resolved, that we earnestly request
the Advisory Committee of the San Diego County Good Roads
Convention to favorably consider and recommend to the
Board of Supervisors the paving of these particular units,
and to designate these particular units in the bond election
call; and be it further resolved, that the routes through
the several cities be over the streets designated by the
local authorities of the said cities. "
On motion duly seconded said resolution was adopted, all
voting aye.
