Excerpt from minutes of Board of Trustees Meeting of
May 5, 1914
The following Resolution was adopted by a unanimous
vote of the Board:
" Resolved, by the Board of Trustees, that on and
after the 5th day of May, 1914, the City Marshal shall
be ex-officio Custodian of the Fire House and Fire
Apparatus, also of election booths and other election
supplies; he shall be ex-officio Building Inspector and
Electrical Inspector, for performing the duties of which
he shall receive monthly an amount equal to the fees
received by the City for Building and Electrical Permits,
in addition to the salary allowed by ordinance.
The Street Superintendent on and after said date shall
have charge of and be responsible for all city tools and
machinery other than that under the control of the City
Marshal; and shall have charge of, care for, and be
responsible for any horses, mules or teams owned by the city
and used by the Street Superintendent in the performance
of his official duties; and the salary of the Street
Superintendent is hereby fixed at the sum of $75.00 per
month, until the further order of this Board. The Street
Superintendent shall devote his entire time to the City,
and shall be under the direction of the Committee on
Streets and Public Property solely."
