HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1912-01-C RESOLUTION #1-C Original Resolution Missing Excerpt from minutes of Board of Trustees Meeting of May 7, 1912 Upon motion, duly seconded, the following resolution was adopted, all voting aye, viz: Whereas, the question as to the location of the State Highway through San Diego County and on to the Imperial Valley is now before the State Highway Commission; and Whereas, it is the desire of the citizens of Chula Vista, San Diego County, to have said highway constructed through said city, via National Avenue and Second Street, to continue over the route known as "Telegraph Canyon Route" ; and Whereas,the State Highway Commission requires , as this Board of Trustees understands, the authorities of incorporated cities to meet the State Highway at its boundaries and construct and maintain a road through said city equal to the road to be constructed by said State Highway Commission to and beyond the limits of said city; Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista, San Diego County, California, that it is the sense of this Board that the said City should, and we as members of said Board agree, in the event of said State Highway being located as above indicated, that we will cause to be enacted an ordinance providing for the construction and maintainance of such road through said City connecting with the road to be constructed by said Commission; and Be it further resolved that we earnestly request the said State Highway Commission to make a thorough investigation of the merits of the route suggested in these resolutions before making a final decision in the matter.
