RESOLUTION NO. 16611
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN
DIEGO, SOUTHWESTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, AND THE
CITY OF CHULA VISTA FOR CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATION OF THE SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE TRANSIT CENTER
WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 20, 1990, Council approved an agreement
between the County of San Diego, Southwestern College and the City of Chula Vista
for a Southwestern College Transit Center feasibility study; and,
WHEREAS, the feasibility study has been completed which concluded that the
Southwestern College Transit Center Project is necessary and feasible; and,
WHEREAS, the agreement, and Alternative i Conceptual Site Plan, have been
approved by the Southwestern College Board of Directors; and,
WHEREAS, the total estimated cost of the transit center project is
$1,150,000, including contingencies; and,
WHEREAS, said agreement authorizes the County to proceed with construction
of the transit center and defines maintenance and operation responsibility
between the College and the City once the center is completed; and,
WHEREAS, according to County staff, the project will follow California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines for environmental approvals through
use of a Negative Declaration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista does hereby approve agreement between the County of San Diego, Southwestern
Community College District, and the City of Chula Vista for construction,
maintenance and operation of the Southwestern College Transit Center, known as
document number C092-060, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Chula vista is hereby
authorized and directed to execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City
of Chula Vista.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby approve the
Conceptual Site Plan Alternative 1 as shown in the Southwestern College Transit
Center feasibility study.
